| Written by Nicole Ryan | | Tuesday, 25 March 2008 | Watters Edge Design wins big at the Los Angeles ADDY Awards. Watter's original album cover for 24 Seven Music won 1st prize album cover/online promo. The 2008 American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards Contest has been referred to as, "the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition" and in order to win, creativity is key. The judges want something that will catch your eye and is unique, and they agreed that Watters Edge Design exemplified those qualities in 4 different designs.
Principal and owner of Watters Edge Design, Scott Watters, entered 5 media pieces this year, and won awards in 4 different categories: website, album cover/online promo, monument/outdoor signage, and a vehicle wrap.
Watters is the former Creative Director for Earthlink Networks Inc, and he’s no stranger to the ADDY's. Last year, Watters took home 3 awards, one for his work on Nixie Cosmetics in the Valencia Town Center, another for his Theatre Project SCV media kit, and lastly for his brochure for Clearogen. Not to mention, back in 2006, he won an ADDY award for the vehicle wrap on the KHTS truck.
Watters said he was very excited to receive 4 awards. “We were shocked and amazed that we won so much this year; it’s such an honor.”
Last year's Clearogen brochure, which won Watters a 1st place prize at the 2007 ADDY Awards. Although Watters was surprised he won, his clients weren’t. "Winning an Addy award for the work that Watters Edge Design did for our online campaign was a fitting acknowledgment. We were thrilled with the creative and practical solutions they came up with for what was an ambitious endeavor, and we congratulate them in the recognition and attention they are receiving for it," said client David Vanacore of 24 Seven Music. Vanacore is often referred to as the “King of Reality” and has composed music for countless TV shows such as, NBC’s “The Apprentice”, CBS’ “Survivor” and FOX’s “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader”. Watters’ work on 24 Seven Music album cover won 1st in cover/online promo.
Watters also took home awards for his work on the City of Santa Clarita’s Transit outdoor signage, the 51st California Valley Fair website, and his vehicle wrap design for Truck and Transportation Services truck.
